Baby sleep checklist

It’s natural to feel anxious when your baby won’t settle – but it’s worth running through a mental checklist first:

  • Are they hungry?

  • Too hot or cold?

  • Do they need their nappy changed?

  • Are they over-tired?

  • Do they need winding?

Sometimes you can run through all the obvious things, only to find your baby still won’t settle – and that can be worrying. It’s worth remembering that this is quite normal in young babies – but if you’re concerned that something’s wrong, it’s OK to seek medical advice!
